Warm Up Question:

If you had five minutes to tell someone the most important things they need to know about life, what would you say?

Sermon Questions:

Read Acts 1:1-11.

Be Grounded in the Kingdom of God (v.1, 3)

Key Verses: Luke 24:44–48; Ephesians 1:18–19

  • What do you think it means to be grounded in the Kingdom of God?

  • How would your life look different if you deeply believed God’s Kingdom is already at work?

  • Why is it important to grow in knowledge, as seen in Philippians 1:9–10 and 2 Timothy 2:15?

Summary: Jesus taught His followers for 40 days after His resurrection—focusing on the Kingdom. We grow as disciples when we engage with God's Word and His Kingdom values.

Be Secure in the Resurrection (v.3)

Key Verses: John 20:14–23; 1 Corinthians 15:12–19

  • Why do you think Jesus went to such lengths to prove He was really alive?

  • How does Christ’s resurrection bring you security today?

  • What changes when you live like the resurrection is true?

Summary: The resurrection is not just a belief—it’s a confidence we live from. Jesus showed Himself alive to give us unshakable hope.

Be Empowered by the Holy Spirit (vv.5, 8)

Key Verses: Luke 24:49; Romans 8:26; 1 Corinthians 12:7

  • What do you think it means to be filled or empowered by the Holy Spirit?

  • How does the Spirit help us live for Jesus daily?

  • Can you share a time when you sensed the Spirit helping you?

Summary: Jesus didn’t send us to witness in our own strength. He promised—and delivered—power through the Holy Spirit.

Be Occupied with Being His Witnesses (vv.6–8)

Key Verses: Matthew 5:16; Acts 4:19–20; Romans 10:14–15

  • What’s one way you can be a witness for Jesus in your daily life?

  • Why do you think Jesus emphasized being witnesses over political or social power (v.6)?

  • Who is someone you could share your faith with this week?

Summary: Witnessing isn’t just preaching—it’s also living in such a way that people see Jesus in you.

Be Ready for His Return (vv.9–11)

Key Verses: Matthew 24:44; Revelation 22:12

  • What helps you stay focused on Jesus' return?

  • How does anticipating Christ’s return shape how we live today?

  • If Jesus came back tomorrow, what would you want to be found doing?

Summary: The early church lived with urgency. So should we. Being ready means living with purpose and hope.
